Paid layers are augmented reality experiences with a price tag. To use a paid layer, you need to purchase the layer first. Paid layers may feature exclusive content or may be feature-rich.
You can purchase paid layers from the Layar catalog with the Layar Reality Browser. Paid layers are indicated by a price tag, in contrast to free layers. To purchase a paid layer, you need the following:
To purchase a paid layer, follow these instructions:
Note: If you're about to purchase a paid layer you will be directed to a PayPal page. Don't worry, this is still Layar. At this moment, we only support PayPal. If you don't have a PayPal account, you can create an account here and select 'Get Started'.
You cannot preview a paid layer, but you can find a detailed description of the layer on the purchase page. Please read this description carefully so you will know what you can expect when you purchase a paid layer. Publishers sometimes offer a free version of a paid layer with limited content or features as well, so you can get a feel for the layer before purchasing.
Once you purchase a paid layer you have unlimited access to it through your Layar account. Publishers have the right to change/update the contents of a layer but you do not need to reinstall or repurchase the updated layer to get access to it. Publishers also have the right to stop providing the layer. In general, they need to offer access to the layer for at least six months after your purchase.
Layar is not the content owner of any layer, including paid layers. All content within a paid layer belongs to a third-party publisher on our platform. If you have any problems/issues regarding a paid layer, whether technical or content-related, you should contact the publisher directly. You can find the publisher's contact information on the detailed description page of the layer.
You can see your purchased layers either in the Layar Reality Browser or on the Layar website, but you must be logged in to see them.
Complete Terms and Conditions for paid layers are listed in sections 9.2 - 9.3 of this document: http://www.layar.com/legal/terms/
